A great pair of sneakers is an investment, and like any investment it rewards a little maintenance. These are the exact routines our own team uses to keep daily-worn pairs looking sharp season after season.
Clean little and often
Knock off dry dirt with a soft brush after wear, and wipe midsoles with a damp cloth before marks set. For deeper cleans, lukewarm water with a drop of mild soap and a soft brush does most of the work — harsh detergents and bleach break down glues and fade colours.
Dry with patience, never heat
Stuff damp shoes with newspaper to hold their shape and absorb moisture, then leave them to air-dry at room temperature. Radiators and tumble dryers warp soles and shrink uppers — the single fastest way to ruin a good pair.
Store them like you mean it
- Use shoe trees or stuffing to keep the toe box smooth.
- Rotate pairs — foam needs a day to rebound between wears.
- Keep leather conditioned and suede brushed and sprayed.
Know when to retire them
Worn tread, collapsed heel counters and dead cushioning change how you walk and run. Runners typically last 500–800 km; lifestyle pairs last as long as the uppers and soles stay sound. When in doubt, bring them in chat — we will give you an honest verdict.
